Easter

This is a great Easter video from the church!

I am glad that Easter always falls on a Sunday. Church was amazing today and I felt like I understood the true meaning better. Every year I hope to learn and grow more than the last! I am so grateful for my Savior and his sacrifice.

This is a great message from our Prophet in the 2012 April issue of the Liahona, this part really stuck out to me

"He is Risen"; A prophet's Testimony,
By President Thomas S. Monson

Life beyond Mortality

“I believe that none of us can conceive the full import of what Christ did for us in Gethsemane, but I am grateful every day of my life for His atoning sacrifice in our behalf.
“At the last moment, He could have turned back. But He did not. He passed beneath all things that He might save all things. In doing so, He gave us life beyond this mortal existence. He reclaimed us from the Fall of Adam.
“To the depths of my very soul, I am grateful to Him. He taught us how to live. He taught us how to die. He secured our salvation.”2

Dispelling the Darkness of Death

“In certain situations, as in great suffering and illness, death comes as an angel of mercy. But for the most part, we think of it as the enemy of human happiness.
“The darkness of death can ever be dispelled by the light of revealed truth. ‘I am the resurrection, and the life,’ spoke the Master. ‘He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.’
“This reassurance—yes, even holy confirmation—of life beyond the grave could well provide the peace promised by the Savior when He assured His disciples: ‘Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.’”3

He Is Not Here

“Our Savior lived again. The most glorious, comforting, and reassuring of all events of human history had taken place—the victory over death. The pain and agony of Gethsemane and Calvary had been wiped away. The salvation of mankind had been secured. The Fall of Adam had been reclaimed.
“The empty tomb that first Easter morning was the answer to Job’s question, ‘If a man die, shall he live again?’ To all within the sound of my voice, I declare, If a man die, he shall live again. We know, for we have the light of revealed truth. …
“My beloved brothers and sisters, in our hour of deepest sorrow, we can receive profound peace from the words of the angel that first Easter morning: ‘He is not here: for he is risen.’”4

All Will Live Again

“We laugh, we cry, we work, we play, we love, we live. And then we die. …
“And dead we would remain but for one Man and His mission, even Jesus of Nazareth. …
“With all my heart and the fervency of my soul, I lift up my voice in testimony as a special witness and declare that God does live. Jesus is His Son, the Only Begotten of the Father in the flesh. He is our Redeemer; He is our Mediator with the Father. He it was who died on the cross to atone for our sins. He became the firstfruits of the Resurrection. Because He died, all shall live again.”5

Sleep positions

Colby and Ethan had to be separated at bed time. The munchkins would not go to sleep and it was causing our nightly routine to take way too long. Once they are asleep I move Colby into Ethan's bed so they don't get scarred in the middle of the night. This started helping keep the boys from secretly climbing into our bed in the middle of the night. The boys were starting to get way to good at this! They would seriously tip toe in and sometimes crawl very quietly and slither up into the bed and not be detected till morning, finally Darrin and I had to draw the line and had to start locking our door. I felt horrible but it seriously was the last solution and the only one that worked. The first couple days were hard on them but they are now doing much better. Colby still wants to be moved into Ethan's room every night but he can never last the whole night. Ethan is a crazy sleeper. We have told Colby he doesn't have to sleep in his bed but he can't sleep in ours. The solution for Colby- moving around! Every night before bed we carry him into Ethan's room. Now once a night he will knock on our door and want to sleep in our bed, when we tell him no, he than decides he would rather sleep on the sofa in the living or family room. Odd, right? How can he be scared at night but be perfectly content to sleep on the sofa by himself rather than with his brother or in his own bed. I don't get it but it is working out the best!

Colby fast asleep, I was cleaning out somethings in the garage and had this bin in the hallway, I didn't even know it was being used for a fort until I went in to kiss him good night!

When my mom came down she gave each boys a mini flashlight, every night they fall asleep with them. They have so much fun with them and most nights I will check on them and the boys will be fast asleep with the flashlight on, and sometimes still in their hands. So adorable!

This picture is blurry but the flashlight is still on rolled on the floor next to his rubber snake. ( Side note- I will finally buy them dollar snakes only if they look super fake!! I have Spencer and his friend Brandon to thank for this fear :)

Fast asleep! Boys are definitely go, go and go some more but I love them and and am SO thankful they are best buds.  I love watching them play together and am happy to say they are best friends!

Hot Cocoa time

The boys have been in need for a lot of hot cocoa, we have been working outside trying to get everything ready for summer but sometimes the weather still isn't great, the boys have been great troopers and try not to complain. It is now becoming a tradition, after being outside for a bit it is followed by a hot cocoa break, then getting wrapped up in blankets and cuddle time with mom while they are warming up.

Ethan and Colby love whip cream and sprinkles, WOW it's a big hit!

Bean Museum

The perfect winter activity, go to the Bean Museum. The big building on campus with a ton of stuffed, dead animals. ( doesn't that sound fun, ha! actually, the kids love it) They do little shows where one of the workers will talk about animals and let the kids pet some live ones (snake, turtle, lizard ) Darrin finished his classes early, he joined up with us. The boys loved showing Daddy around!

See, they like to show us the animals! They do a great job remembering what everything is, totally impressed!

Omaha, Nebraska

During Christmas break we decided on taking our job offer at Union Pacific, in Omaha, Nebraska. Tornado's here I come! We actually never thought we wanted to leave Utah but going to U.P. feels right and we know it is the right place for us. We will do a 12 week internship this summer before finishing up his last year at BYU's MBA program.
I have never looked in too or considered Nebraska but I am way excited to try it out. Union Pacific is a very friendly family company, which is exactly what we are looking for. They treat their employees very well and it is a big company with ability to move up the corporate ladder.  Omaha is a family friendly city and ranked high in the US charts. Everyone that I have met or talked to about Omaha has loved it there. The zoo is supposed to be amazing so I will be excited to go to the zoo a lot with the munchkins.

......On a side note, this April Darrin will be going on a MBA business trip, to China and Thailand. We are very excited for this opportunity, he is going to be able to go to big corporations and see how they are run internationally. This will be a great experience!

On the deck, boots and bikes

First off, I want to say my kids hate to wear pants. The minute they get home they would rather wear t-shirts and underwear. I have a rule when friends and family are over they have to wear pants but sometimes they just like to be a little more free.

Ethan and Colby like their boots!

Grandma Miller and the boys

Colby and Ethan love to take Andy on a walk, luckily it was a good day and not too cold. Notice Colby picked out his shoes, gotta' love his swagger!

Colby loves Andy, he knows it is Grandma's dog but until then it is HIS! He is always in charge of Andy on our walks, he is great with him.

Ethan is my wanderer. Colby will stay to the side of the road and Ethan is oblivious. He just wanders around exploring, which means I watch that kid like a hawk! I will turn my head for a split second and the next he is 20 feet ahead of me and in the middle of the street. I am getting faster on my feet :)

Ethan noticed the neighbors fence had a slight gap, he got close to sneaking in to go find the horses. ;)
