Regret- Oops!

Everyone knows Colby was born May 16th. I was some what nauseated but I can not make any excuses. I should have been working out during my pregnancy. Wait, let me go back I should have been working out since I got married but have not been. I gained 40 pounds with my darling boy and am having the hardest time getting these extra pounds off. So, for all of those mothers out there, I need some workout and eating advise. Any good recipes, wait let me rephrase. Healthy recipes, that taste good? In dire need of advise!

  1. Natalie and Cob are obsessed with a new snack they came up with. I tried it and am now addicted. They bought some really good bean dip(fat free) and salsa and they put bean dip, cheese, and tomatoes on a taco shell and then roll it up and dip it in salsa. It is soooo delicious and relatively healthy. Instead of eating a cookie I eat one of these. I just started this and we'll see how long I last.

  2. thanks, I will try that.

  3. Clarissa -- as you have mentioned, the last 10 pounds or so come off the slowest for me too. I think that you also need to be fair to yourself and give yourself some more time to loose the weight. It's only been, what, a little over 3 months since you had Colby??!!! Yes, after the first baby, the extra weight is lost more quickly, but it usually takes me about 9-10 months to get back to "pre-pregnancy" weight. However, that's without doing anything special besides breastfeeding. Any exercise you can add is a bonus, in my opinion, and then being more careful about how much, how often, what and when you eat helps too. (those late night snacks while watching tv don't help anyone) Watching what I eat is harder for me -- which is why it takes me longer to shed those last dreaded pounds. I've noticed lately, though, that the more I exercise, the more careful I am about what I eat. It's like, I don't want to cancel out that good exercise by eating junk, or overeating . . .

So, in a nutshell, I'd give yourself a break and allow yourself some more time. Then maybe try going on walks with Darrin and Colby after Darrin gets home from work. Then try giving up late evening snacks.

  4. Just give in. Eat the twinkie. Lay around.

  5. Well loosing weight is always difficult because it requires effort for a long period of time. I have a big sweet tooth and two years ago I cut out all the sweets like pastries, candies and ice cream and magically all that cellulite cottage cheese went away and I felt lighter (by lighter I don't mean lost tons of lbs), and healthier. I felt really good but I wasn't able to continue it. You have to excercise at least three times a week, and try walking everywhere you can instead of driving or go on walks. Have a bag of nuts for when your hungry, it curbs your appetite. Eating healthy and exercise its simple but it works if you stick to it, and like Catherine said it takes a while to shed the pounds its hard and you don't feel yourself for at least 6-9 months. I am sure you are doing great.
